Welcome to the Farmhouse

Here in Texas we are busy about the business of life. Christmas nears and we are all at a fever pitch of acitivity. As AB prepares to leave his military helicopter and return to commercial aviation, there is much studying taking place and not a little gnashing of teeth as the transition begins. I am busy baking, teaching the world's best students (my kiddos), and trying to slow down occasionally to enjoy the Season. Farm Girl is busy with homeschooling 8th grade, practicing her piano, and training "Aimee the Wonder Horse". Farm Boy keeps his family busy and delighted as he approaches birthday 4 in a few months. The only thing that is not proceeding at breakneck pace is the adoption of Miss Juliet Grace, waiting for us somewhere in China. We hope that as we count down to our trip to bring her home, you will stop by and sit a spell on the front porch, visit, catch up, and enjoy a taste of life at the Farmhouse.

Well!!!! Talk about technically challenged? I have heard about blogging and didn't even know what it was and here you are with the Farmhouse Blog. So good to hear from you and the picture of Rachael and Samuel and the horse and your home are so GOOD. All you need now is Red to come and lay on that beautiful front porch to make the picture perfect. So good to hear from you and study hard Alan-we want you to stay home. Love Carolyn

Hi Rose, Techno challenged?!! I don't think so.I heard about blogging but didn't really know what that was. I am so impressed. The kids pics are great. I also had a horse that looked a lot like the horse you have, when I was a kid. So much fun riding.

Sorry to hear the adoption process is progressing at a snail's pace. It is so frustrating. Doesn't any one care about these kids. Will she share a room with Rachel or have her own? Are the kids travelling with you to China? That will be some trip. Wish we were going with you.

So you all must love living on the farm-it sounds so wonderful. Are you done decorating your house? It's fun doing that although it does take time.I am still working on mine. Most of it is done though.

Kids are doing well. They are both taking a soccer class.Katie also has a little dance class.I had to try to get her interested in something she could do independent of Denis. He is definitely the leader and she wants to do everything he does. As a result she's not too interested in dolls-but likes cars and trains. She does like to color and paint, something Denis is not too interested in. I dont'mind a tom boy but there are limits.

Our baby sitter is pregnant and is due in Feb. Good news is that she'll be staying with us abd bringing her baby. Only thing is that she's thinking of leaving Ieva (her daughter) at home with a friend. I hope she won't do that. She's a good playmate for my kids. Denis especially likes her. He always tries to kiss and hug her when they come and leave. She wants nothing to do with that.Oh Denis it is only the beginning of your problems!he he.

Tom is also doing ok.Work is going well and he is happy the Bears are potential super bowl playoff contenders.

Work for me is busy but not too crazy. My nurse quit,we hired a new one but I don't think she'll last long. She's already complaining about her hours and has the compassion of a toad.I had to work Thansgiving day, well really thurs through Sunday. It wasn't too busy.Could have been a lot worse I guess. Fortunately I have Christmas week off. We will be going to Ohio. Are you staying home for Christmas?

Glad to hear that Alan is moving into the private sector. We pray his transiton is an easy one . Don't study to hard!!

Sorry I haven't written sooner, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. It is so funny-we were just talking about you tonight. 3 years ago today we met up with you in Moscow. Can you believe that?! And then out of the clear blue sky I got this amazing blog
from you. So I just had to respond -while the iron was hot as they say.It was a sign.

I know you are very busy but if you could please email me your new address and phone # we would greatly appreciate it.

Have a very merry Christmas-hope my response was appropiate but if not just know I don't know much about these blogs.

Blessings,Mary Anne

Rosie,
I'm so thrilled to hear from you! I sent to you and had returned to me an e-mail just last night. I was really bummed, so now I'm elated.
It's late, so for now, I'll just say the kids have grown so much and your home looks beautiful, as always.
I'm so pleased you kept me on your list of people to include. I'll be back at a reasonable time of day to comment more.
Take care and I'll talk to you soon.
Love,
Cindy Whitfield
